What a Refreshing Outbound Adventure !
July 1, 2009
Yes, we closed the office on 29-30 June 2009 & the whole Academia team left together to go to Citarik to the Kaki Langit Adventure Camp for our company outing.
In March this year, we had gone to Singapore for holiday. This time, we decided to just take a short fun break.
We arrived at Kaki Langit Adventure Camp almost just in time for lunch. After lunch, we put on our “military attire”, divided into 2 teams and went off to the Paintball “War Zone”. This was the first time for all of us… So everyone was so excited.
For full 30minutes of “battle”, we planned, attacked, shot, got shot, crawled, ran, rolled, dashed, hid, sneaked… We did everything we could to win the flag of the opposing team. We succeed with 5 minutes to spare ! Victory !
We were all dirty from sweat, mud and wet from walking across the river. Happy but still very excited. Everyone was still talking loudly about who shot who & who nearly got shot. Even those who were shot proudly showed off their battle “scars”.
After resting & some light refreshment, we removed our “military attire” and put on life vests, helmets and rowing oar. Then we headed towards the Citarik for our rafting (arun jeram). For most of us, it was our first time. So we were equally excited. The water level was just nice and it turned out to be fun, exciting but not too fast. After the 9km rafting, we were treated to fresh young coconuts at the end of the journey ! We were thoroughly soaked, but totally happy.
When we arrived at base camp, we immediately headed for the bathroom to have a good clean shower. By then it was almost dinner time. We hungrily ate our simple but delicious dinner. Then it was games time, so ably led by our very own Games Master – Haryanto.
After games, it was free & easy dancing. Ari, our very own “4-in-1″ dancer showed us why he is in such high demand-and fully booked till end of the year!. He shook & twisted to every song… We laughed and clapped non-stop ! Goyang Ari !
Then we moved to the back of the camp site for the much-awaited “Api Unggun”. We gathered around, sang songs, accompanied by 4 guitarists & enjoyed the jagung bakar, etc… We sang late into the night. By mid-night, some started to walk sleepily towards the rooms to call it a day. Others continued to chat, drink coffee and eat “ubi bakar” late into the night….
2 days, but thoroughly happy, thoroughly re-charged & ready to work as a strong team to achieve better results.
ACADEMIA… FANTASTIC !!!
