James Gwee Inspires 400 Participants at AMA (Jogja)

After not having conducted any public seminars in Yogjakarta for the last 2 years, James Gwee finally returned to Jogja in a seminar organised by AMA (Asosiasi Managemen Indonesia) Jogja entitled “How To Become A Superstar Sales Person”. This was the first seminar that was organised by the re-vitalised AMA Jogja, led by the newly elected Ketua Ibu Fransiska.
From the very beginning, it was clear that this was an event organised by experienced professionals. We arrived at the hotel at 8pm last night and the stage, backdrop, screen, chairs and even LCD were already set-up. Almost the whole panitia team were there, including Ketua AMA Jogja Ibu Fransiska. Even Ketua Umum AMA Indonesia, my friend Pak Mindiarto Djugoraharjo had come to ensure that everything was in order ! What a fantastic show of support and commitment by the Ketua Umum. Bravo ! Ibu Siska happily told me that about 350 people had registered to come.
This morning, the event started punctually with Ibu Lusy Laksita as the MC. After Ibu Fransiska gave her short but effevtive opening address, there was a very inspiring Sharing Motivation session entitled “Entrepreneurship” by Director Utama PT Kedaulatan Rakyat.
Then it was my turn. By the time my session started, there were slightly more than 400 people in the ballroom! Chairs had to be added… Throughout my session, from the facial expressions and response of the audience, I could clearly see that they were learning, soaking in the knowledge, and getting inspired. After my session, SO MANY came to register to become members of www.SeminarSeumurHidup !! The response was FANTASTIC !! Executives in Jogja are so thirsty to learn and improve !
It was a very happy and very successful first seminar organised by the Star Team of AMA Jogja, ably led by Ibu Fransiska. I could see that this was a solid team, comprising a good combination of experienced professionals and enthusiastic young members. I am positive that AMA Jogja will grow from strength to strength in the years ahead.

I have done many seminars for churches in many cities in Indonesia. The people who attend my seminars are mostly members of the church. So I had the impression that this seminar at Gereja GKPB Fajar Penghargaan in Bandung on the night of 11 June 2009 was going to be similar. I was told that about 300 people had registered to attend the seminar. That was normal, I though.
Then when my team and I arrived at Gereja GKPB Fajar Penghargaan in Bandung at about 5.30pm (the seminar was schedule to start at 7pm), I saw the very large auditorium with sophisticated equipment. The auditorium could seat 800 people. The panitia comprising church leaders happily informed me that 800 people were expected to attend tonight. That was very good news. From the beginning, I could see that this was a very professional team, experienced in organizing events of such a large scale. Tonight’s seminar was also going to be very well managed. By 7pm, the auditorium was full. In fact, the next door auditorium which could seat 200 people was also full. Panitia whispered to me that more than 1000 people were present ! Wonderful !

The seminar began, and flowed very well. More than 80% of the participants were business people, professionals and employees. Fantastic ! As usual, we went into extra time, everybody stayed on till the end of the seminar.
